MILITARY PET OWNERS

SNAP partners with the San Diego Chapter of Dogs on Deployment to provide military personnel with canine companions, a “chit” to redeem for a free spay or neuter. Servicemen and women grades E1-E6, local or overseas, are screened by Dogs on Deployment then referred to SNAP.

Chula Vista Animal Care Facility »
Offers spay/neuter services from any zip code for $75. Residents of Chula Vista, National City, and Lemon Grove may qualify for free services based on income and residency requirements.

Feral Cat Coalition »
Lends humane traps when available and provides free spay/neuter services for community cats.

Pet Assistance Foundation »
Provides referrals to low-cost spay/neuter services, provide information on municipal coupons or vouchers, special humane society programs, and subsidies to pet owners who demonstrate financial need.

San Diego Department of Animal Services Spay/Neuter Program »
They have a referral network of private hospitals who usually charge $5 to $25 more than us per procedure. To receive the low-cost price when you call any of the providers, you MUST mentioned that you are inquiring about their program (which is not part of SNAP).

San Diego Humane Society »
Offers spay and neuter services for pit bulls, chihuahuas, community cats, and house cats at their Escondido, Oceanside, and San Diego campuses. Military pet owners are also a priority. Income requirements for discounted fees whereas specific zip codes qualify for free services.

The Animal Welfare Foundation »
Offers spay/neuter financial assistance as well as sponsor the cost to euthanize companion animals too ill or injured to save.

FACE Foundation »
For animal owners who are unable to afford the cost of their pet’s emergency or critical care.
