FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Diego, CA – July 7, 2026
Spay-Neuter Action Project (SNAP) has received a donation of veterinary supplies valued at $9,957.34 from SPCA International’s Veterinary Aid program. The supplies will be used to perform no- and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for pet dogs, cats, and rabbits of financially challenged San Diego County residents. This generous donation will enable SNAP to provide additional spay/neuter services for San Diego County communities which are struggling with pet overpopulation. Local animal shelters are overcapacity and in crisis. There are not enough homes to adopt their way out of the problem. Spay/neuter is essential for preventing the birth of unwanted litters, and SNAP’s affordable services help responsible pet owners provide this lifesaving care for their pets.
“These veterinary supplies are essential to SNAP’s work,” said Dorell Sackett, Director of SNAP. “We are so grateful for SPCA International’s support.”
About Spay-Neuter Action Project (SNAP)
SNAP was founded in 1990 and became a registered nonprofit organization in 1992. SNAP was the first organization in the San Diego region to implement programs to reduce the number of companion animals euthanized in local shelters. SNAP brings no- and low-cost spay/neuter services directly to communities struggling with chronic pet overpopulation. SNAP has become the primary provider of affordable spay/neuter services to the San Diego community, and has fixed more than 95,000 dogs, cats, and rabbits since 2003.
