Spay-Neuter Action Project (SNAP) has received a $5,000 grant from Ethel Frends Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee to purchase canine spay/neuter surgical supplies for SNAP’s new Neuter Scooter mobile surgical suite. The new Neuter Scooter will launch mid-2026, and expand SNAP’s reach to provide no- and low-cost spay/neuter services for pets from low- and middle-income households all over San Diego County.
“SNAP is incredibly grateful to Ethel Frends Foundation for their continued commitment to canine welfare and SNAP’s work,” said SNAP’s Executive Director, Dorell Sackett. “Their support over the past 10 years has helped SNAP to provide affordable spay and neuter surgeries for thousands of dogs for appreciative low-income community members.”

About Spay-Neuter Action Project (SNAP)
SNAP was founded in 1990 and became a registered nonprofit organization in 1992. SNAP was the first organization in the San Diego region to implement programs to reduce the number of companion animals euthanized in local shelters. SNAP brings no- and low-cost spay/neuter services directly to communities struggling with chronic pet overpopulation. SNAP has become the primary provider of affordable spay/neuter services to the San Diego community, and has fixed more than 95,000 dogs, cats, and rabbits since 2003.
